LICN began doing business as Your IT Solution in 2004. In 2007, it was incorporated under its current name, L.I. Computer Networks, Inc., by Chief Executive Officer, Steven Mazza. While observing other I.T. companies, Steven often felt that enough wasn’t being done for the customer –– it seemed like doing the minimum amount of work was enough to “get by”, and this didn’t sit well with him. Almost every industry, education, medical, enterprise, government, non-profits, relies heavily on their computing and network technology, and Steven wanted to step out to help improve the end user’s experience. Most people aren’t excited about having to call the Help Desk when a problem arises, and LICN does what it can to be proactive about technology maintenance so those phone calls are on the rare side.

Steven was born on Long Island, but many of his younger years growing up in Florida. After returning to Sayville while in his teens, he pursued an education in technology, receiving an Associates of Applied Science from Suffolk. He then immediately began working on his certifications (MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, and others) and getting a job in the I.T. field. Now, with over 18 years of experience, he is confident and comfortable working in today’s ever-changing technology landscape. Although he is the owner of the business, Steven truly enjoys getting his hands “dirty” by functioning as a Senior Network Engineer. He started this business for the love of technology and he prides himself on providing the best local technology support possible. Although this company started with just a single employee, Steven’s proud to see how LICN has grown, all while still provided excellent support to its many clients.
Steven, his wife Kara, and their two bulldogs, Hunk and Maddie, settled down in Yaphank. Steven especially loves the outdoors: surfing off Fire Island, cruising around the Bay, or playing a little volleyball in the backyard. In what little free time he has, Steven enjoys flexing his musical muscles by playing guitar, bass, and drums with some local friends.
Steven is excited to continue growing LICN so that more people can experience “I.T. peace of mind”. TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
Joe is one of the more recent additions to the LICN Team. Having over 23-years’ experience in technology (17 of those years focused on technology in education), Joe offers an extensive volume of knowledge and technology integration as it relates to K-12 environments. Joe is also equipped to support our local business clients as the Technical Services Manager; organizing and deploying technicians as needed. If you call our support line, there’s a good chance you’ll speak with Joe first.
Joe was born and raised in Long Island, currently residing in Northport. As a kid he had a fascination with taking things apart and putting them back together to find out how they worked. When needed, he uses that same philosophy when entering into a new environment LICN will be supporting. Using the mindset, “What makes the technology in this place work? And how can we improve it?”, Joe is always looking to promote a better end user experience by managing the technology to work more efficiently.
Joe enjoys taking his pup, Kallie, for walks up at the Northport Harbor, appreciating our unique Long Island surroundings. In his free time, he likes to cruise around in his Charger R/T, actively pursuing his appreciation for muscles cars, both old and new.
SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER
Tim has worked at LICN since 2012, starting as a Systems Administrator and working primarily for one client. Now, as Sr. Network Engineer, he is leveraging his experience to help many of the LICN clients with ongoing support and new implementations. Tim enjoys helping organizations get the most from their technology, “It’s awesome when our clients recognize the value of organized and elegant infrastructure. Don’t leave the equipment that drives your organization’s success in hot, dusty, and cramped closets. Show it off and be proud of it. Proactively take care of it.”
Tim grew up in Patchogue, and graduated from Patchogue Medford High School. Now living in Medford, he has spent most of his life in Eastern Suffolk near the South Shore. He spent two years at Suffolk County Community College earning a degree in IT, Networks and Communications, and was a TA for the Cisco Academy. Later he attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for three semesters, and had the opportunity to have his own radio show at WRPI, where he was also the Hard Rock Music Director. He volunteered for UPAC Sound, where he supported live events with professional grade touring audio equipment all over campus.
Tim lives and breathes Metal. Heavy Metal. He mostly attends shows in the northeast, but occasionally travels cross country and even on cruise ships out at sea. Some of Tim’s favorite bands are Insomnium, Amorphis, and Evergrey. When Tim isn’t rocking out, he’s probably tinkering with Arduinos, wrenching on race cars, or catching a Yankees game.
Chris joined the LICN team in 2013. He performs a variety of tasks for the company, including managing accounts and client relations, social media and company branding, as well as, data and help desk support for our clients. His favorite part of the job is seeing the vision of a project turn into reality, knowing his client is better off now.
In 2003, Chris received a certificate of completion from the Word of Life Bible Institute. During his time there he was able to develop his skills in musical ministries, as well as, perform technology duties for the organization. He especially enjoyed being a part of the Tech Team, recording and editing digital videos for Word of Life Camps and the Bible Institute. While attending the Bible Institute, Chris met his wife as they served together on a vocal ensemble and theater production team. Chris spent many years working at Long Island Apple retail stores as a Creative, Lead Creative, and Genius; teaching Mac OS, iOS, Final Cut Studio, Aperture, and other Apple software, as well as, being certified as a computer and iOS device technician.
Chris is a lifelong resident of East Patchogue where he currently lives along with his wife, LaNae, their two daughters, Kylee and Jenna, and their two dogs, Bauer and Lacie. His wife is a full-time Mommy and a part time dental assistant. In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time near the water, serving at his local church, working around the house, and hanging out with friends and family.
